77 INTRODUCTION Delays at bus stops and signals have a negative impact on bus speeds, even if priorities are provided in the form of bus lanes or busways. On the other hand, the positive influence of well-designed bus stops or signals is irrelevant if buses do not have appropriate priority to move freely along street sections. Therefore, it is necessary to consider all the components of bus infrastructure to visualize the overall consequences of operational conditions in all the elements of bus priorities. The research described in this feature is an advance on previous works.1,2 Its aim was to extend the modeling of isolated bus stops and traffic signals toward a corridor context. To that end, a simple microscopic simulation model was developed to represent a system made of two one-berth bus stops interconnected by a bus lane and a traffic signal. The potential effects of particular operational conditions at the bus stops and traffic signal were studied.
